Call for Paper

To implement the new sustainable development goals (SDG),various efforts must be coordinated
through new public governance. However, there exists considerable controversy about governance priorities and the types of governance capabilities that are critical.


Graduate School of Public Administration, Seoul National University would like to host
the 
“2019 SNU-Asia BK21 Conference to provide an academic platform for researchers,
practitioners, and policy makers in Asia and other parts of the globe as well to
discuss the latest research ideas on what is a good government and how to
develop a country’s economy in the sustainable way. We would like to draw upon
diverse perspectives from various disciplines including public administration,
public policy, political science, economics, and etc. We also encourage young
scholars who will lead the world in the future to take part in discussions.
Especially mutual learning from valuable experiences regarding the role of
government in the process of economic development in their countries, Korea in
particular. Contributors are invited in the areas including but not limited to:


- Governance and Conflict Management

- Good Public Administration and Sustainable Development

- Non-profit Organization and Development

- University Network and Governance

- Smart Governance 

- New governance, networks, territories and decentralization

- Relations between Governments and Market

- Official Development Assistance


The interested participants will have an opportunity to publish their research in a special
issue of the Korean Journal of Policy Studies based on a due review process.

 

Important Dates

Submission of Abstracts Deadline: May 15, 2019.

   - The abstracts must be less than 1000 words, and be submitted by email (keynes@snu.ac.kr) in PDF format.

Decision Notification: May 25, 2019

Registration Deadline: June 10, 2019

Conference: July 26-27, 2019

Travel Expenses

Accommodation is provided for international presenters for up to three nights (July 25-July 28)
and for domestic presenters for one night (July 26). The funding for
accommodation is provided by the Brain Korea 21 Plus program funded by the
Korean Ministry of Education.

The participants are expected to pay other travel expenses on their own.
